The Results of Combining Reiki and Meditation Are Amazing!

Meditation is a practice designed to help you relax and quiet your mind. It also can sometimes have strong spiritual implications. The way that mediation works is that your mind is trained to focus its attention in a single direction or on a single object. In Reiki meditation, the focus is usually on your breath, which is a fundamentally important facet of any meditative practice.

Reiki is a healing technique first used by Dr. Mikao Usui in Japan. Dr. Usui was participating in a 21-day long fasting meditation known as kushu shinren when he created the techniques and symbols of energy healing, which he coined Reiki. Afterwards, he travelled around Japan healing people and teaching them about the methods of Reiki.

Dr. Usui relied solely on his own intuition to discern where and when to place his hands on the body and perform the healing. One of Dr. Usui’s students, Dr. Chujiro Hayashi, is credited with having established the specific hand positions that have become standard practice with Reiki. From Japan, the Reiki healing practice moved into Hawaii thanks to Mrs. Howayo Takata, the very first female Reiki master, and from there, it spread quickly into the rest of the Western world.

Given the outcomes of each practice, Reiki and meditation have strong correlations.

They both can be very spiritual, and they can be used in conjunction with each other to optimize the results. The chief thing to keep in mind when combining Reiki and meditation practices is that they are both disciplines that require lots of practice and concerted effort to master.

When you practice Reiki meditation, you must choose something on which to direct your focus. In general, Reiki meditation practitioners focus on their breath, but you can also choose one of the top Reiki precepts, which include the following: Do not anger, Do not worry, Be humble, Be honest in your work, and Be compassionate to yourself and others.

Reiki and meditation can be used together to optimize your results!

As with other forms of meditation, if your mind starts to wander as you are practicing Reiki and meditation, simply acknowledge that you have veered off course and then redirect your thoughts to their disciplined path as quickly as possible. It can take many months or sometimes years before both Reiki and meditation practices can be mastered.

Therefore, do not get discouraged if you are having a lot of trouble at first. This is perfectly normal and to be expected. Remember the saying, “If at first you don’t succeed, then try, try again.” This is what you have to do with Reiki and meditation, but the rewards at the end of it all will be well worth your efforts.
