Don’t Let Your Meditation Plateau — Enhance Your Next Meditation Session with These Great Tips
If you’ve been meditating for a while now, you may be interested in learning some ways of enhancing your meditation. Perhaps your meditation sessions aren’t going as effectively as you would like, or perhaps you or not reaping as many benefits as you thought you would, or even still, perhaps you have just hit a meditation plateau. Whatever the case may be, if this is the boat that you are in, there absolutely are tips and suggestions that you can employ to make your meditation the best that it can be.
With that said… the meditation tools that I’m going tell you about in this article are to be used as methods of enhancing your meditation and making you feel more comfortable; they’re by no means necessary. Furthermore, the sheer act of gathering tools to improve your meditation can have a psychological effect on you during which your commitment and motivation to incorporate meditation into daily life are reaffirmed.
It’s kind of like a way of saying, “I’m really serious about my meditation sessions.”
Alright, let’s now get down into some of those meditation enhancement tips…
Meditation clothing: First and foremost, you need to wear clothes that are comfortable. Generally speaking, clothing that is more loose-fitting and made from softer materials is better. You can even go as far as to have a specific outfit that you wear every time you meditate – it’s your meditation outfit!
In doing this, you will be training your brain to make the association between that outfit and meditation, so any time you put it on, your mind will automatically launch itself into meditation mode… or at least that’s the idea anyway.
Meditation timers: Using a meditation timer serves a way of marking both the beginning and the end of your meditation session. And the reason that they can be so beneficial to you is that they will enable you to focus strictly on your meditation rather than continuously checking the clock, which you may be doing, especially if you have a very busy schedule and only have X amount of minutes to set aside for mediation each day.
Additionally, I should note that timers specifically designed for meditation are better than kitchen timers and other types of clocks because they don’t indicate that your time is up through the use of a jarring, beeping noise, which can cause you to jump out of your skin. Rather, they very gently indicate that your session has come to a close.
Meditation stools, pillows, and mats: If you typically sit on the floor to meditate, then you may like to incorporate one of these things to make your meditation more comfortable. They all can come in a variety of shapes, sizes, colors, and materials, so you are most likely going to be able find one that fits in with the rest of your home’s décor.
When you are meditating, you want to make sure that you are getting the most out of your meditation sessions that you can. Therefore, you should definitely consider employing some of these helpful methods of enhancing your mediation.
